Is it okay to submit the same response to the Review and the parliament human rights committee?
Thanks for the question Iqbal. Absolutely yes, you can submit your evidence to both. With parliament’s Joint Committee on Human Rights, if you are sending them the same information as you send to the Review, it is a good idea to include a covering letter telling them why you are sending them the evidence too (this is because parliamentary committees have rules about receiving unique evidence, so you should tell them you are specifically sending it to them as well). Remember in both submissions to think about any issues there might be around confidentiality or safeguarding if you’re sharing people’s / your own story – be clear whether names and personal details can be published or not.
